Blu-Kote on injured dog

I've been treating the paw of my mom's little dog for two days now with the Blu-Kote stuff that is supposed to fight infections caused by cuts. The infection is looking a lot better, but I feel awful each time I have to pin the poor fellow down and put that stuff on his paw. Wears the poor fellow out and today my mom's not here so he's just in laying by her bed with me on a very studious "mean person!" ignore.
