Winter cometh, and with it Halloween. I was in watching a deal on the History Channel with my dad a little while ago about the history of Halloween, interesting things. They were saying that it and many of it's traditions date back 3,000 years to the Celts. Showed a scene in there of modern Druids at a Samhain (Gaelic for November) celebration and some of them were wearing and the High Priestess said that their circle of fire was lit by the Green Man - as she spoke they showed a man with a Green Man mask on walking around twirling a large baton that had both ends flaming, he went and lit a deal that started a solar cross (circle with a + inside it) on fire, a small floorless four legged arch deal over the center of the thing that looked like it had a star hung from it over the center of the solar cross.
I'm mow plotting on incorporating something like that into my Heir novel for a fire magic ritual by the tribe people. Not the same thing, but definitely got ideas watching it.
