Whooooosh! There goes the snow!

Last night I was sitting listening to music in the basement and I hear this sound, a low sliding type noise that slowly builds up and then a crunching jarring sound just a few yards from where I am sitting and up about 3 feet.

It was the snow. There was a lot of it piled up on the roof over the past few days, and it lost its grip on the metal roofing and went sliding off the side and down onto the ground in a massive avalanche from a 15' drop to the ground. It's been a while since it's done that, think that's the first time this winter in fact.
