Antique jewelry [advertisement]

Have you ever had a chance to look at a piece of antique jewelry? I don't mean the stuff they are calling antique now days, those gaudy art deco pins and earrings from the 50's or whatever that you find in your grandmother's jewelry box. I mean antique rings made of sterling silver that were carefully crafted by hand. These are the pieces that if you are lucky and patient you might find at an estate sale in a box of vintage jewelry.

When you look at pieces that predate the turn of the century you can find items of enduring craftsmanship, finely crafted heirlooms that were passed down from mother to daughter as beautiful antique wedding jewelry. Perhaps a pearl necklace or delicately etched cameo.

Today such collectibles are easier to find for the less than casual seeker, the Internet making it possible to locate treasures in on-line auctions or at websites that specialize in the sale of antique jewelry.
