Fishing for Salmon in Alaska

I really like this picture too, since it shows a good idea of what an uncrowded river bank looks like when the salmon are running. Yes, I said uncrowded, if this was combat fishing you would not see gaps between them fellows out there fishing for salmon.



These guys were further up the river a good ways fishing for salmon, the fellow on the right is catching the fish up in a net.



And speaking of nets... up here in Alaska we have dip netting for salmon, where you take a big net and scoop the fish out of the water. These are two dipnetters returning from a morning of dipnetting for salmon on the Kenai.
