(This post was written yesterday in the car on my Alphasmart moments after the mentioned events occured.)
We were on our way back from Big Lake today and there were a couple of stupid kids on bicycles riding down our lane headed for the corner store. Trail on the right of them and paved bike path to the left of the road and the little suicidal morons were riding on the busy with weekend traffic road. I think parents just toss their kids out and assume they have enough brains to stay off the road. Either that or they have the kids heavily insured.
Okay, stupidity is not just for the young. A few miles down the road we encountered an adult riding up the road - smart enough to be on shoulder where kids were in the road - but less than ten feet to the guy's left is a bike path and he's riding toward traffic on the shoulder of the Parks Highway. The state put a lot of money into them paths for what? Motorcycles and ATVs? No, they have dirt trails for them things, I know, I ride them on my ATV. The paved path is for bicycles and pedestrians. Use it people, not the highway - particularly on State Fair weekends. :::pounds head on desk:::
