Less bugs?

I had something pointed out to me the other day by one of my brothers. There is a noticeable decline this year in how many mosquitoes have been around. Usually working out in the yard around dusk this time of year we are chased back inside by mosquitoes even when we have citronella candles lit and bug dope on. This year I have hardly seen any mosquitoes. One of my sisters pointed out that the bees are not as prevalent this year either. Has anyone else notice this?
