Wyvern Sculpture I Entered In Alaska State Fair

Well, I got my little wyvern deal finished and entered in the Alaska State Fair the other day. It is a polymer clay wyvern rearing back with a candle on the end of the stand. I'm hoping to get a chance to get over there and see the critter on display in the fair and get a picture of him and some of the things he is entered against.

Her is a basic picture of the little wyvern candle holder. The picture quality sucks, and I'm sorry for that, but it's still my old Polaroid that wants to stop working. It at least gives you an idea for what the wyvern looks like.

Each belly plate and scale on the wyvern was individually cut out from sheets of clay and applied one at a time to the figure. Took forever to apply all those little scales, but I think it makes the dragon look much better than impressing scales with a tool would have looked.

This shows you the details a little better, the scales can be seen on the claw on the right side of the picture.
