I have been wanting to create a great place to watch movies, and I think I have it figured out now. I want to build a home theater setup down in the basement. Somewhere that I can kick back in comfort and watch movies in style. I want to make it a full home theater experience, where I have nice theater chairs and all that sort of thing. Somewhere that my nephews and brothers and so on can come over if they want to and kick back and enjoy a movie.
It will be a while before I can afford a really good wide screen television, but until I can afford that I can put together what I can of the room and start making it ready for the home theater of my dreams. Right?
Work toward getting me some good theater style decorations and home theater popcorn machines and maybe use that area to put a nice espresso machine. Hang up some of the movie posters I have along the walls... I could even get some of that padded velvet rope stuff that you see in theaters and use that as a decoration along the walls or to show how close the little ones can get to the expensive DVD stuff when I can get that.
What can I say? I fell in love with movies when I first went to drive in's as a little kid and have loved them ever since. I think a home theater would be the perfect thing to do with part of that dark basement when we get midday sun at midnight in Alaska. ;-) Don't you?
