My mom and I have long discussed the idea of making an outdoor bar-b-cue area out in the yard off the edge of the front or back lawn where we can have family bar-b-cues and birthday parties and other family gatherings. With Alaskan summers being so beautiful, and brief, it just makes sense to get an outdoor kitchen to let you take full advantage of every second of that midnight sun fun.
I would really like a little cabana style area, something with a fireplace on one end for the kids to roast marshmallows and hot dogs while leaving room for a family seating area and a kitchen with grill for the adults to make sishkabobs and grill steaks.
A cabana design would make it usable on rainy afternoons and snowy winter days as well as throughout the summer months. Ideal would be to be able to create a enclosed area where the fireplace is so the fireplace warms the interior of the seating area and the grill area can be accessed through a sliding glass doorway.
