Watching the Sun in STEREO

The below image of the Sun's south pole was taken on March 27, 2007 by NASA's Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO) satellites. Being able to see three dimensional images of the Sun is essential to better understanding solar physics, helping to improve space weather forecasting.

For more information on the Sun, visit the Sun page at the Solar System Exploration section of the NASA website.
