Amusement Park Rides

When I was younger we lived in Los Angeles for a while, not very far from Magic Mountain and Disneyland. I remember trips to places like Knotts Berry Farm and the carousel out at Griffith Park. I developed a love of roller coasters and amusement park rides then that has stayed with me throughout my life.

One of my sisters and I used to take her kids to the State Fair here in Alaska and ride the amusement rides there. We don't have decent roller coasters in Alaska though, the only one I know about is a small kiddie one that runs around on a very short track and never goes more than about 6 or 8 feet off the ground in an oval pattern. It is meant for the 8 and under crowd.

When I think roller coaster, I think roller coaster. A ride that lifts you up high above the surrounding area and whooshes you down into curves and rises and maybe a loop or three.

I would love to get the chance to go to a real Amusement Park again, like the one in Blackpool, UK. Pleasure Beach is the UK's oldest theme park.A ttracting 6 million visitors each year, the place is spectacular to look at just visiting the website and doing a little exploration of their rides.

I am adding Pleasure Beach into my 'someday' book that I have started for things I want to include in my trip if I make it to the UK. It would be a great place to spend a day just having fun and enjoying some great rides.
