Finding the luggage and getting it ready is only half of what needs to be done when getting ready to go down to Vegas for that convention I am attending. There is a whole long list of tasks aside from that which needs to be seen to: from making sure my dad's medicine is all organized for the week I will be away, to getting the house spotless, to making sure that there is adequate landscape lighting illuminating the walks before I leave since my parents will be trying to navigate them in the dark before I will be able to get back up here.
I figure one or two nice path lights between the porch and the car should be more than sufficient, with a bin of rough kitty litter on the porch that can be spread across the ice to keep the path clear. I already have one light out along the path, but it has an annoying problem of shining in the eyes of people trying to navigate the stairs, so I need to trade it out for something that will not shine in the eyes.
