Need to set up new television layout

As much as I would like to just lounge around now that I am back in Alaska, I can't. My brother had found a large screen television for our dad just before I left, and now that I am back I need to get the front room sorted out and things moved around to accommodate the large television. I also need to shop around for things like HDMI cables and other essentials to get the whole set up connected in properly and working how it should be.

I've decided that I will put my DVD recorder in there and the 5 DVD changer I got years ago in my room, so that I can record things off the satellite system in the front room and watch them in my bedroom. I also want to come up with a surround sound system for the front room system. It would be nice to have surround sound watching movies in there on the large screen television. It's an older TV, but a decent enough picture once you get used to mentally blocking out where some kid hit the middle of it with a red crayon at one time.
