Airport travel with children

Travel can be a stressful time, but there are ways to make it a little less stressful. If you will be traveling by plane with children then you might want to take some things into consideration.

Airports are not exactly the most interesting places to be trapped for hours on end. Before you go make sure that your children understand that there will be times where you might be standing in line or waiting for something for a long period and have them pack something that they can use to pass the time while they are waiting.

Check with your airline or the FAA website or both before taking along things such as hand held video games or iPods, as the constantly changing restrictions might be set to where these things might not be allowed in carry on luggage.

Have your kids bring along a book or comics that they enjoy and want to be able to read. And pack something such as snack food or gum or, my personal favorite, lollipops. This can all help in easing the munchies and in helping kids find something to do when sitting on uncomfortable airport waiting seats.
