Clothing for travel - pack less and accessorize

You don't have to pack a lot of things to get a lot of styles during your trip. Plan out your outfits to make use of the same pair of dark slacks a couple of times during your trip (wearing jeans up to three times before they need to be washed is often considered okay), and plan your outfits to let you wear the same shoes if possible.

I heard somewhere that men can get away with two pairs of slacks and three shirts and have a full week’s worth of outfits, I’m sure that a smart woman packing along a scarf or vest can make just as many styles. Maybe a little black dress, a pair of dark slacks and a few shirts and things to accessorize them with?

And most importantly - try to make sure that a single jacket will look good with everything you take if you are going somewhere cold enough to require a jacket. You don’t want to get ready to go out and discover that your jacket looks terrible with your outfit.
