For many travelers an important factor is being able to get the room they want. There is no sense, for instance, in staying at an ocean view hotel if your room overlooks the subdivisions being built behind the hotel. Right? Hotel Reservations has set up their reservation forms so that a section appears on the form when hotels accept special requests, these requests are forwarded to the hotel. The Hotel Reservations website can not, of course, guarantee requests will be granted, but they have at least made it easier for your to request such things.

As an Alaskan, my first interest was of course to see what their information for tourists to Alaska is, and I have to say that I was rather impressed with their coverage of the state. They describe Alaska as a place with "...Kodiak bears standing twelve feet tall, moose stopping traffic in downtown Anchorage..." Both are true, well, I've never met the twelve foot tall Kodiak bears, but I have had to stop for moose in downtown Anchorage more than a few times. And anyone that doubts the fish stories needs to come up here and catch a 50+ pound salmon for themselves.
Something else I liked about the website was the easy click the map navigation on the Vacation Rentals search, allowing me to find the area I was interested in with just a few clicks of the mouse and no typing needed.
