Gold Panning In Alaska

I was talking to my mom about taking off this summer and going down to Hope to do some gold panning in the recreational panning area. We have a small travel trailer that we are going to fix up for panning for gold and going fishing, and if we can get it fixed up then we might just go for an overnight camping expedition down to Hope and see if we can find some gold. So far the trips we have made down there have been for just a few hours at a time rather than being decent length trips to the gold panning area.
