Iditarod nearing the end of the race

The Iditarod is drawing to a close, as I write this Joe Runyan is past Safety and headed for being the 61st musher to enter Nome this year.

The last musher is past Koyuk now, most of them are past Elim. Things are starting to wind down and will soon be building toward the All Alaska Sweepstakes Race that will be leaving Nome on March 26th. Celebrating 100 years of mushing in Nome, the race has a $100,000 purse waiting for the winner.
