Traveling with credit cards

I started using a credit card for travel when I went on my first business trip last year. I suppose that I am lucky that I slipped through a potentially troublesome thing that I had not realized about traveling with a credit card, particularly lucky since my trip was to Las Vegas, which I assume is a red flag destination within the US for card issuer's monitoring possible card thefts. It is a couple of years old, but I doubt things have changed much for the better int he past two years so the information is probably still going to be just as pertinent now as it was then.
