Is that hotel glass really safe to drink from?

The next time you take a trip, you might want to pack a glass to use in your hotel room. I was looking around at other travel blogs and came across this video over at Travel Fitness for Business Travelers...

That is more than a little disturbing, and if the major chains they showed are doing that, then you can be sure that you can't trust any hotel to properly clean guest glasses. I was particularly disturbed by the bottle with "do not drink" on the side of it.

So, my advice? Get a small travel cup that you can pack in your overnight case or toiletries bag and forgo using the room's glasses. It is safer to take along something like a glass than to risk what the room's glasses might have been washed with.

Alternatives? Maybe pack a 3oz bottle of dish soap and wash the glasses before you use them, or buy a glass from the gift shop to use and then take home as a souvenir of your vacation? Don't want a souvenir glass? You could aways leave it in the room or toss it in the trash.
