Traveling with Laptops

MSNBC has an article on making traveling with a laptop computer easier. Their Life With Laptop article discusses author's life of having an on the road relationship with various laptops over the years and then offers up some advice on how to make your own love affairs with laptops easier - including when to know it is time to walk away from one laptop and get a new one.

The most impressive things I discovered from the article? Slingbox - a way to watch your home television from anywhere. And the pending introduction of WiMax by Sprint Nextel and Clearwire. WiMax promises faster data delivery than 3G wireless networks and is planned to operate at speeds equal to wired broadband access. This is something that I am going to have to look into a lot more, since I can't even go to the store without packing along my laptop to get some work done.

I just hope it will be available in Alaska.
