Gas prices too high for travel

According to the news, the national average on gas in the United States is now $4.00 a gallon (holy shioooot, I typoed that at first and left out the period - of course, it's not going to be long before we are looking at four hundred bucks a gallon for gas at the rate it's going up, huh?)

So, since the gas has went so drastically out of sight, it was $4.16/9 here before that last raise in prices, I think maybe travel is going to be out this summer. I'll stay home and build my dream bar-b-cue area out back instead. In the long run I think I would get a lot more enjoyment out of that than I would out of a weekend trip down to Seward or up to Denali.
