Passenger accused of hitting flight attendant on JetBlue flight

According to MSNBC a woman flying on a JetBlue Airways Corp. airplane was accused of striking a flight attendant after breaking free of the flex cuffs that flight attendants had used to try to restrain her.

The trouble apparently started on Tuesday when a flight attendant on Flight 643, traveling from New York to San Francisco, tried to stop the woman from smoking on board the flight. The no smoking request was allegedly met by obscenities and racial epithets from the passenger, resulting in the woman being restrained which climaxed in her striking the flight attendant in the jaw.

The woman told the court in Denver that she was drunk and does not remember the incident.
