Cool spring and summer in Alaska

It's closing in on the 4th of July... whew, where did the year go? I can't believe that 2008 is already half over. Up here in Alaska the plants have not been growing very well because of cold weather. We still have brier roses out there, those are always completely bloomed out by mid June. ::shakes head:: Weather is doing funky things, but then, I knew that when we started getting lightning storms up here. Which we haven't had in this area yet this year, must be connected to how cool the weather has been. Thought we had one brewing a few weeks ago, but it seemed to have passed by without actually becoming a storm. Hopefully things will start warming up more as we go into July and August, because by September the temperature is dropping again.
