Struggling to lose weight

After riding my bicycle up to the post office yesterday, I of course have "saddle sores" today. Owwies. I really do need to ride more, that's the only way to avoid the sores associated with riding a bike after a long time of not riding one. And it's great exercise for me. I really enjoyed the ride yesterday and have a definate interest in losing about 60 pounds.

I've tried everything short of weight loss pills in my efforts to lose the weight I gained after my dad had his stroke. There is just something about those great sounding deals such as - Phentermine no prescription - or - lose a pound a day - or ... well, you know the slogans. I just have never really been a believer in the "miracle weight loss pill" so as a general rule I just shake my head at the claims on TV and the boxes lined up along the shelf in the stores, grab my Slim Fast powder and evade the junk food aisle.

Pills might work for some people, but to get them to work you have to stick with a "proper diet and exercise plan". If you are not going to stick to that plan, then chances are, you won't lose the weight. And if you can stick to a proper diet and exercise plan, well, then you are going to lose the weight without the pills. Right?

I would much rather put the $30 to $160 a bottle for pills I don't need into my piggy bank. Still, many people can only loose the weight with the boost of pills, and there are ingredients that have been shown (not by the FDA to my knowledge) to assist in weight loss - so I would most definitely go for the pills long before I ever went for liposuction or lap bands or any other surgical methods of weight loss.

I suppose my point here, after digressing from the talk about the bike ride, is that I need to put effort into riding my bike a few times a week. I think that for me, that is going to be the best method for speedy weight loss. Now I just need to fix the gears on it so I have something other than just low gear.
