I am going to go completely insane waiting to get my desktop computer back. I am trying to get as much done on the computer as I can every day, but I really hate using my laptop as a desktop. With my desktop I can leave the thing on from the time I get up to the time I go to bed without worrying too much about what it will do to it to leave it on for so long.
I never really thought much about needing to have everything backed up - until I lost everything on the computer. Now I keep thinking about how I should have had everything backed up in triplicate. Particularly my writing.
I'm now looking into the options for backing up information, from online archive sites to storing information on CDs, to tape drives and other kinds of system backup options. Trust me, losing your computer and not having a backup of a novel you have worked on for years sucks. Not to mention all of the programs and fonts I lost as a result of the crash.
I'm just hoping that the movies I had bought from iTunes are not lost as well. That would effectively cure me of ever buying more from them.
