Outer Banks

Over the past few months I have looked into places that are of interest to me in the lower 48, places I would like to look more into the history of if I ever get the chance to get down that way. One of those places is the Outer Banks. I have been looking at the Outer Banks on and off for a while now, and there is a lot of history I would like to see first hand there.

One thing that caught my eye was a notation somewhere that the Outer Banks is home to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse - the tallest lighthouse in the country. Lighthouses were one of the first decorating themes me and mom had in the bathroom and she has a large collection of them. When we went on that road trip along the Western States years ago, one of the stops was to detour to any lighthouse we got close enough to see.
