Carnevale

It is Carnevale time in Venice Italy. A time when people wear elaborate masks and costumes. Compared to the Mardi Gras of New Orleans, the Carnevale is the last celebration before Lent, allowing revelers to let loose and enjoy a festive.

In Venice the Carnevale kicks off this Friday, February 13th, and will last until February 24th, ending just in time for Ash Wednesday.

Carnevale is a festival of celebrations that includes masquerade balls, mischievousness, and an "anything goes" attitude toward enjoying the festivities.

If you can not make it to Venice then you might consider bringing Carnevale home with a celebration this Valentine's Day in the form of a Carnevale party where guests are encouraged to come dressed in masks and elaborate attire ready for a masquerade ball that celebrates not only the Carnevale, but the love of Valentine's Day as well.
