French youth gain free access to their cultural and artistic history

It is about to get even easier for the French youth to enjoy history. On April 4th there will be a new rule in France that citizens under the age of 25 will be granted free entry to public monuments and museums.

In an order by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the new rules will allow any French citizen under the age of 25 to gain free access to museums such as the Louvre. It is President Sarkozy's hope that this new rule will help to promote French culture.

French residents under the age of 18 had already enjoyed this free entry luxury, but now the free access has been extended to residents under the age of 25 and to school teachers. This is all part of an effort to endorse arts education with a partnership being created between French cultural bodies and schools.
