Woman paralyzed on Continental Airlines flight

Flying can be dangerous, but you generally do not think of a domestic flight as the kind of situation where you could suffer paralyzing injuries, at least not unless you survive a crash.

On the 17th a Continental Airlines Boeing 737 bound for McAllen-Miller International Airport hit a bit of turbulence roughly 15 minutes before landing. Several of the passengers were injured, including one unidentified woman that was in the plane's restroom when the turbulence struck.

Reports state that the woman was tossed to the ceiling, where her neck was fractured on impact, then back to the floor, her back being broken upon impact with the edge of the toilet. Moved to the aisle of the plane for the remainder of the flight, she was transported to the McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, TX.
