I was sitting here working on the computer and it came over the news on the other room, and as I write this I am listening to the news talk about his life and the news he reported.
As a child of the 70's I grew up with Walter Cronkite as *THE* news anchor. When you thought of the nightly news, you invariably thought of Mr. Cronkite.
The man had an amazing life, watching and reporting on some of the most important events in history. Growing his career with the growth of television. As someone on TV just pointed out, families would get home and cook dinner, then sit with their dinner on TV trays to watch Walter Cronkite report the news of the day.
