High Plains Invaders (2009)

I watched High Plains Invaders (2009) earlier on SciFi (Why the heck did they make it SyFy? ::shaking head::: ) Anyway... James Marsters movie in which he plays Sam Danville, a train robber waiting for his hanging in a sleepy old west town. I love James Marsters, first really noticed his acting when showed up on Torchwood as Captain John Hart, then started watching reruns of Angel very recently because of his character Spike.

I would love to see more of his character John Hart from Torchwood, but will be happy with watching him in about anything that he gets a part in.

As for High Plains Invaders, the movie has your average range of flaws for most made for TV movies today, but it is surprisingly well done for a movie that likely did not have as much budget as it would have liked to have. Marsters character describes one of the creatures that attacks the town as "Big ugly tick" and that is fairly accurate, they look like nasty four-legged ticks with whip tails.

One flaw from a writer's perspective is I'm not sure how the things built their ship to get to Earth, but that is just one of the assorted flaws I can overlook. Definitely love Marsters in the role and would like to see him do more roles like that one... or like John Hart, or Spike...

Anyway, good movie, if you like a little SciFi with your Westerns you would likely enjoy watching High Plains Invaders.
