Wouldn't it be nice to drive over 2,000 miles on a single gallon of gas? Universite' Laval of Quebec, Canada, is the current record holder of SAE International's Supermilage®competition, which challenges competitors to build a fuel-efficient single-person vehicle using a small four-cycle engine donated to the competition by Briggs & Stratton.
The current record, held by Universite' Laval, is an impressive 2,340 mpg. It is a record that 30 contestants will be attempting to beat Thursday and Friday in a two day competition held at the Eaton Corporation Marshall Proving Grounds in Marshall, Michigan.
