External hard drives

Trying to get my websites updated and sorting out what needs to be done between both my desktop computer and my laptop computer leaves me appreciating the value of an external hard drive. There is so much junk, website backups and images I use for my blogs and filed paperwork, that would be so much better stored on an external hard drive, but is cluttering up the hard drives on my desktop and laptop. It makes me think my next purchase should be an external hard drive so that when I come back from a trip with a zillion digital pictures and miles of video footage I can drop it on the external drive and not clutter up the work computer while I am sorting out what goes and what stays.
