Well, it's coming. Winter is almost here in Alaska. :-( Have I mentioned that I hate winter? I do. Anyway, there's snow on the mountains and all the trees are mostly yellow with small traces of pale green still clinging desperately to them. Rather pretty actually, particularly when combined with the russet tones of the highbush cranberries and wild roses in the undergrowth, scatterings of rose hips and mountain ash berries... but I still would prefer it were spring.
We have a woodstove we are planning to install, that should help knock down some of the cost of heating fuel. I grew up in houses heated with wood heat, so it'll be nice and cozy to have a fire again. I would prefer it be in a fireplace with a hearth, but I'll take an airtight. lol Fireplace is for next year. ;-)
And speaking of for next year. I now have a hot tub. :-) Got it from someone that just wanted it taken out of their deck and hauled away. Nice sized hot tub and works great. Mom and I are planning to install it in the old log garage we no longer use, should make a nice year round place to use it.
In other news, I don't think I have updated the blog since I got my new flooring. Went to Lowes a few weeks back and found flooring on sale, got enough to redo the office and the hallway in very kewl looking aged oak laminate flooring. I'm now working on painting the walls in the office in praparation for installing shelves.
Enough rambles for the moment, I need to get back to updating my website.
