I just wanted to say my sincerest condolences to Steve Irwin's family. He worked hard to make sure that the world knew that crocodiles were magnificent animals and dedicated his life to making sure that everyone had a higher respect for the wildlife we share this planet with.
I can't help but think of him on one of the Discovery Channel shows as they burried the matriarch crocodile in the croc pen. I've been trying to recall her name, but can't seem to remember it at the moment. I clearly recall seeing how much he loved the ancient crocodile, however, and how much it touched me seeing him and his friends at the zoo bury her in the enclosure with the other crocs.
I recall watching programs with him and his wife, Terri, out in the desert hiking and showing the audience various creatures found there. Or his talking with a fellow that had wrestled an emu to the ground in the middle of a freeway.
I hope that his love of crocodiles and other animals will live on in everyone, most particularly his children. I'm sure it will.
I'm not sure what to say, other than my sincerest condolences to all of his friends at the Austrailan Zoo and to his family. He will be missed by the world.
