Falling leaves mean fall decor

Well, it's here. The leaves are yellow and starting to fall, which means that it is time for fall decor. I'm actually feeling more like getting into the holidays this years than I have in many years. I used to go all out decorating for Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas - the past few years I have had very little desire to even think about the holidays, but for some reason I am more interested in them this year. Not sure why that is unless it's that the past few years I've been going to someone else's house for parties and I dunno... They did not decorate better than me or anything it's just... hmmm... looking back I guess when I was getting ready to spend time at someone else's place for a party for the holidays it just did not seem to be really worth bothering with doing anything to my own house - we live in a secluded sort of area without trick-or-treaters so it was kind of just for my own festiveness I decorated since my parents don't care one way or the other. This year I am not going to be going anywhere for Halloween or Christmas parties (so not in the mood to socialize with a gal that don't even realize it was uncool to fire me just by never picking me up for work ever again, she STILL hasn't said anything about that), so I'll be happily staying at home and I guess that's why I am feeling more like being in a holiday spirit - it's the only thing that has changed the past few years.

I am plotting looking around the yard for some good looking fall foliage and creating a swag for the back door and create a fall looking display on the porch with my ceramic and decorative pumpkins and vegetables. I can turn the Jack-o-lanterns to hide their faces until closer to Halloween then after Halloween turn them back around again and have a decoration that will last through to Thanksgiving.

I'm also pondering buying some fall printed fabrics just to spruce things up a bit with some throw pillow covers or table runners etc.
