Idotarod 2007 - Dee Dee Janrowe

Just watched Dee Dee Janrowe take off out of Nome to run her 25th Iditarod race to Nome Alaska. All dressed up in pink to help with breast cancer awareness, her and her dogs dashed off down the snow covered street on their way out of Anchorage and toward what I hope is a win.

Dee Dee Janrowe is a breast cancer survivor of 4 years now and has always been an inspiration to any woman that wants to test her limits. The foremost female dog musher competing in the world today, Dee Dee Janrowe has career highlights of not only the fastest time of any woman in the history of the Iditarod, but also thirteen top ten finishes. One of those top ten finishes, a 1998 second place finish, was recorded, at the time, as the fifth fastest Iditarod time ever recorded.

For more on Dee Dee Janrowe, and to watch her run to Nome, visit her website at: deedeejonrowe.com or visit the official home of the Iditarod on-line: Iditarod.com

Temperature in Anchorage at race start: 7 degrees F (-14 degrees C)

Dee Dee Janrowe's information leaving Anchorage:
