Here is one for the guys at the autoshop, a custom Ford firetruck

Okay, my brother and nephew have a body shop for classic cars here in the area and are always looking for something to tinker with, well, here's something they should find kewl.

The ultimate fire response vehicle built by a former volunteer firefighter.

This truck's evolution can be found at ProjectResponder.com, where there are pictures that show not just the evolution to the current show truck, but what its life of work and recreation was like before it was transformed. (And yes, guys, there are pictures of it with cute ladies in skimpy attire, sheeeesh, what is it with guys and pictures of women with big trucks?)

Anyway, from pictures of beating around the logging trails of Maine (the driver not sure just what country he's in when), to waiting diligently for the snow to fall with snowplow blade attached, the truck lead a full life before it was volunteered for undergoing the Six Million Dollar Man style rebuild that transformed it into the "Ultimate Volunteer Firefighter's Emergency Response Vehicle". Now touring the midwest auto shows, the truck is looking to be on display at the SEMA show in the fall (pending additional sponsor support).

And best of all? It's a Ford! (Yes, I'm a Ford person). What volunteer firefighter could ask for more than their very own Custom Ford Firetruck? Shoot, what fire chief could ask for more? I can just see this pretty sitting alongside the old racer police car that used to tour around the Valley and go to the State Fair and car shows. Haven't seen the police car for a while though.

This truck is one mean machine though. Check out the additional pictures below, then go take a look at the project history via one of the above links and find out how this truck evolved into what she is today.
