The birch trees are leafing out
Sitting here looking out the window and my lovely birch tree in the yard is leafing out. There are little green leaves just starting to unfurl all over it. The tree is one that grew back from the stump of one that burned when the Miller's Reach fire came through years ago. It's actually a cluster of four birch trees that are all growing up from the edge of the stump of the original birch tree that used to be at the center of the property. They have a lot of years before their trunks reach the size of their parent tree, but at about 10 years old they are starting to get close to the old tree's height. Over the next few days they should burst into beautiful green leaves with the trees along the back of the garden quickly following suit.
