I had it pointed out to me earlier today that I was missing a post on one of my blogs. That took me aback, because I knew I had posted it. I started keeping a notebook for my blogs a while back to try to better track what I am discussing on each of them. I have certain themes that I like to be sure I finish out such as the plot types series I have over on my Writer's Life blog and a series on medication conflicts with stuff on Family C.A.R.E., so I went on an investigative mission when someone asked about something that should have been posted and wasn't. Imagine my surprise to discover that not only had it not published, there were a few more on that same blog over the past few weeks that had not published. In fact, there are a few on several of my blogs. ::Gasp!::
After some investigations I think I have figured out the SNAFU. I use Blogger over here, then over at my main website and a few other places I use b2evolution. Toss in a few other sites such as Drupal, MySpace and WordPress and we have a pattern of all submit points except for Blogger's being on the right. Blogger's submit button is the left one. Oh Joy!
So apparently, there have been a few times (particularly in the wee hours of the morning when I am 90% asleep) that I have hit the "Save Now" and assumed it posted to the blog. I click between websites and instant messenger programs quickly, talking to my friends and posting stuff and apparently when I am in a hurry a few times I have hit "Save Now" and jumped over to something else without looking if the post went through or stayed here. :::pounds head on desk::: Now we add in a tendency to just hit the box to close a row of tabs in Firefox and I have three bad habits too many.
So, from now on I will be slowing down a LOT. I'm going to confirm the posts actually made it to the blog *BEFORE* I mark them as posted on the notebook and I'll be double checking all the tabs when I shut down a Firefox window full of tabs. That should cure my post problems.
As for the MIA posts I found: I'm just going to either trash them as outdated or update and post them in the weeks to come. It makes no sense to post them back on the list where no one will get a chance to read them.
