Kitchen Design: Range hoods by Futuro Futuro

When the idiots that built this house installed the range hood, they went for the most elcheapo one they could buy and then installed the motor backwards! My dad had to reverse the motor so that the fan drew smoke and such into the hood rather than blowing it out into the house.

Over the years the thing has been getting more and more worn out and we have stopped even using it in most cases because of the horrible noise it makes when it is turned on. Mom and I want to make that the first thing we replace when we get around to redoing the kitchen.

I was just looking at the Fairy range hoods by Futuro Futuro (stop snickering, the name has nothing to do with my liking this hood). The hood is metal painted white with what looks like a decorative spice shelf nook on it and a wood skirt frame on the bottom. I like the Malizia style on the bottom frame.

I have been told that the Futuro Futuro range hoods are quiet, which would be a great change from the loud noisemaker that we have now, so I will definitely be adding the page to the kitchen section of my portfolio of ideas for home repairs.
