Can romance last a lifetime?

My parents celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary a few days ago, and we are looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary in two more years. I don't know of many people that have maintained love for one another for that long. What makes for long term commitment like that? I'm not sure, I think if we could answer that question we could do away with divorce entirely. What I do know is that even the smallest signifier of one's love for another can mean a great deal.

There are many ways to keep the romance alive in a relationship or marriage. If you need ideas for how to achieve that take a look at some of the tips at the preceding link - from shared desserts to romantic love letters there is a good selection of easy and inexpensive ways (many of them are free) for how you can build a more romantic relationship with your wife - and they would work just as well if you are a wife looking to help build romance with your husband.

Still not sure how to build a little romance? Maybe what you need are some romantic stories to help you see that the way you feel about your significant other is not so difficult to express after all. Love letters are something that has long been associated with romance, consider the age old bundle of romantic love letters tied together with a satin ribbon and tucked into a shoe box for safe keeping. Whether you are a natural or need a little help finding the right words, a simple note saying "I love you" in the most poetic of ways can be such a romantic gesture.
