I found a new blog advertising site which I've joined, so now I will be better able to target the advertising that my readers are exposed to to things that they are interest in. The site is called Smorty, and it is designed to allow advertisers to create a campaign which is then offered to bloggers with appropriately targeted blogs. Smorty looks like it might turn out to be one of the better get paid for blogging sites I have encountered, but it will take me a little exploration to decide just how much I like it.
What drew me to Smorty was that it is one of the ones that lets the bloggers see the campaign descriptions of the people that want to advertise on blogs, the blogger then can pick those opportunities that match the general atmosphere and content of their blog. I much prefer this style to having someone assign me an advertisement to write, since it is hard for someone else to know as well as I do what my readers would like.
I know that the idea of someone that will blog for money has been looked on with a frown by a few of the upper level bloggers out there (the ones that were the only ones making all the money not so long ago), but my experience in this emerging field of advertising has shown that it works. Not only that, blogs that run ads grow better than those that do not. There is always an outcry at any kind of change, but there really is not a change in the idea of a blogger getting paid to blog. What has occurred is that it has been opened up by companies such as Smorty. Now bloggers that run quality blogs and have an interest in choosing their own advertisements, rather than letting a computer dictate them, can find the advertisers that fit their readership. Who best to decide what their readers are looking for than the blogger? Certainly not a computer algorithm. Do you agree? Find out how you can get paid to blog by visiting Smorty.com to find out more about how bloggers can control their advertising.
