It seems that I had been wrong to assume that the therapy place would have an air cast or similar ankle support device in stock. The therapist that worked with dad yesterday sent him back with a request to find an ankle support before he goes back down there.
Thankfully we have three different kinds of ankle supports here, so I'll just send them all with him next time. Let her decide which one it is that she wants him to be using.
It seemed to have gone okay otherwise, but I have not heard a lot about the details on what went on. I can imagine it entailed the usual range of motion and test standing and trying to get him to walk using a parallel bar type stuff. Hopefully she gets him to trust canes, that's what I want out of this whole thing. He's not trusting using a cane since he does not feel balanced properly with one.
