Daydreams of a Scottish Getaway

One of the places that I have always wanted to get a chance to visit is Scotland. As a fantasy writer I am instinctively drawn to the history and scenic beauty of Scotland and the ancient castles to be found there. Someday I would love to take a vacation there and stay in an old castle or, since that probably will not be an option for me, I would like to look into a few nice scotland bed and breakfast places that might be good as a place to spend my evenings writing about the places I explored during the day.

One that has caught my eye is the Lochview Motel. I liked this one when I looked at the website because of the centralized location. The all-day breakfast, that is complimentary with the price of the room, is a wonderful added feature for me, since I never know if I am going to be waking at the crack of dawn or further on toward noon or afternoon.

I love the sound of a room with a waterside balcony on which I could write, or sitting in the dining room or bar with a waterside view and working away on my novels.

Ah, such are the daydreams of fantasy novelists everywhere I suppose. I wonder if any Scottish fantasy writers daydream of writing novels with a view of Mt. McKinley?
