Orbitz is the best travel site for Alaskans

I have done a bit of travel out to the lower 48 from Alaska, with this being my third time looking for good airfare prices with Orbitz and I have to say that they beat the other sites hands down once again.

I have a specific destination in mind for this trip, so I went looking around at all of the various sites looking for which one had the better deals. Last night I saw a advertisement on TV that said Expedia saves you more than anyone else, so I double checked this morning (it had been one I had compared with before buying tickets) and that site is nearly $60 more expensive on the package I got from Orbitz, so I figured I would share the little bit of comparison shopping that I had done the other day.

Destination: Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
Vacation Package Covers: 7 nights in the hotel + round trip airfare
Airports: Anchorage International to McCarran International Airport
Advance Purchase Time: 2.5 weeks
Travelers: 1 adult

Orbitz: $929.00
Cheap Tickets: $935.00
Travelocity: $970.00
Expedia: $988.00
Hotwire: $1,025.00
Priceline: n/a*

The price for Orbitz includes all of the fees and everything, including the fee for flights into and out of Alaska/Hawaii. So, my travel company of choice? For flights into and out of Alaska it is, once again, Orbitz.

* I had checked Priceline as well, but they did not seem to offer staying at Circus Circus in their packages when I went looking for hotels to stay at.

Side note: based on the similarity of the results pages on the two, I think Cheap Tickets books through Orbitz and then tacks on a little for themselves for having done so.
