Want to market something? Get personalized pens

How do you do fast and easy guerrilla marketing for your new novel? Reach into your desk and grab a pen to jot this down... wait... look at that pen you just grabbed. What does it say? Chances are there is writing on it, from the name of the company that made the pen to the name of the business that you got the pen from.

The other day my mom handed me a pen to have me call a business for her. I have a pencil on my desk right now that has the number of the local phone company on it. Here's one in my briefcase from a lube and oil change place in town... This is all name brand marketing.

People still use pens and pencils all the time. If you want to get the word out about your business or a novel you published what better way than to pass out personalized pens? I have seen talk about business cards, but think about it, for about the same price you would pay for a fancy business card you can get a inexpensive ball point pen with your business name and website address on it. Print up the name of your novel and the website where it can be purchased and then hand the pens out whenever you are in a situation to offer someone a pen. Standing in line at the bank, post office or DMV and the person beside you needs a pen? Hand them one of yours! At a convention and someone wants to give you their business card? Trade them a pen for it!

There are a lot of different ways you can market your business or novel using pens - leave a pen laying on the counter after you sign a receipt at a business. They will tuck it into their pen cup and people after you will read the pen when they pick it up to use it!
