The holidays do not only mean that you are traveling to somewhere, it also might mean that you are getting ready to welcome guests into your home as they travel across country to spend time with you for the holidays.
Do some special touch-ups to the guest bedroom to prepare it for your guests. Little touches such as a small table-top tree decorated with miniature ornaments can add a little special touch to a room. Use a large lace doilie as a tree skirt and place a few tiny stocking stuffer type gifts for your guests underneath it.
Add a teddy bear in a Santa hat to the head of the bed as a festive touch and place holiday hand towels in the guest bath along with a pine scented candle or potpourri.
Something that you might consider is placing disposable cameras in the guest bedroom, so that if your guests do not have a camera with them they can still take pictures to take home as lasting memories of their visit, this is especially good if you have some activities planned that they might want to have a camera along for - such as a winter train ride or a visit to a local attraction.
